Every year, Maine Audubon offers two sunset puffin cruises with Hardy Boat to Eastern Egg Rock in Muscongus Bay off the coast of Maine. Eastern Egg Rock was the first restored bird colony in the world thanks to the work of Dr. Stephen Kress and National Audubon's Project Puffin.  In 1981, four pairs of reintroduced Atlantic Puffins nested on the island for the first time since they had been wiped out in Maine in the late 1800s, and 2017 was the most successful year on record with 172 nesting pairs.
